Almost ready to go!

If you're reading this today we are doing all our last minute packing so we can catch a plane tomorrow to Medellin, Colombia.  It is not a place very many people are familiar with.  I learned that quickly as I began telling people we were moving there for 6 months.  I didn't know much about it either at first! The first thing I saw online was that it was voted Innovative City of the Year for 2012 beating out New York City and Tel Aviv.  See link below

It has reinvented itself from being one of the most dangerous cities in the world.  I mean come on who doesn't think of drugs and kidnapping when they think of Colombia? It's troubled past doesn't scare me though.  Maybe it should.   It's the present that intrigues me enough to want to take full advantage of what it has to offer.

The weather there is very mild all year round.  Thats where it gets its motto: City of Everlasting Spring.

Here are just a few images of the city. We'll be sure to share our own as we explore and live and learn in this new place.
